Australian Coins in Circulation

On 14 February 1966, the Australian government adopted the dollar as its official monetary unit, thereby replacing the pound.  A new set of coins, whose denominations were consistent with the decimalisation of Australian currency, were introduced during this time.  At present, there are six coins in circulation, namely...

…the five-cent coin.
…the ten-cent coin.
…the twenty-cent coin.
…the fifty-cent coin.
…the one-dollar coin.
…and the two-dollar coin.
